Wayne Walden, Ngāti Kahu (Crown appointment)

Formerly managing director of Farmers Deka Limited, Wayne Walden has extensive experience in the New Zealand retail and wholesale sectors and is involved in a range of business interests. Wayne has been a director of a number of boards including Mighty River Power, and is the former chairman of Tranzrail and deputy chairman of Meat New Zealand. He is an independent director of rural retail co-operative Farmlands and maintains an active interest in environmental matters. Mr Walden served as chairman of the board of Māori Television from April 2003 to July 2007 before resigning from the position due to business commitments. He remains on the board as a director.
